Living to the expectation of others can make it difficult to find happiness ourselves. 

We work so hard to reach milestones set out for us, such as getting a high-paying job, getting married to the right person, or doing what others expect of us. In reality, we may still feel anxious about losing it all and not feeling satisfied with what we currently have.

Figuring out what we want in the future can be scary, especially facing the many obstacles in our path. Whether that is navigating relationships, multicultural expectations, career growth, or our own thoughts, this can be difficult to achieve on our own.

My name is Terence To, and I am a registered social worker offering therapy in Mississauga, Ontario, with over 7 years of clinical experience. I understand how it feels to be directionless and unsatisfied. As an Asian man living in Canada, I have gone through similar struggles to reconcile personal and cultural differences. It is from these experiences that I am able to listen with compassion and empathize with my clients.

What Guides Me As A Therapist

Flowing Mind Therapy provides In Person and Virtual Therapy services in Mississauga to help support individuals with their low mood/ motivation and negative outlook, workplace satisfaction, navigating cultural expectations and improving their personal relationships. I also specialize in working with clients who have been diagnosed with OCD to help them drop the endless struggle and get unstuck. Working together, you will be provided with guidance tailored to your needs and provided tools to help you become your best self.

When I work with my clients, my personal goals are to help them find their own path that family, colleagues or culture don’t solely influence. Clients will learn to identify their emotions and how to process them. Lastly, clients will have developed the skills to create their own goals and form a plan on how to reach them.

My approach focuses on helping you develop the roadmap to living the life that you want and being the person you want to be. To achieve this, we will identify practical solutions to any life challenges as they come and accept difficult life experiences that we cannot change without evaluating or trying to change them as we can become entangled in this process.
